I love these challenges, cos.. its CAS, Clean and Simple and Card Patterns. As a newbie, I thought its good practise to start simple. And for this I had chosen simply to tie a ribbon, put a flower and gem brad.. and a simple sentiment Thank You. Thank you for the many blessings in life, all the journey in my life.
Today’s challenge has been quite fun after all that extra coffee :). Well, glitters are always fun:). I had used again one of my favourite Hero Art stamp of a gorgeous tree. I had decided to keep simple as a reminder that life is simple and you can find joy and all that glitters around you everyday. I added a little touch of tissues pleat, layered with a blue green paper and ribbon tie over with the sentiment.
Glitters : Stickles – mermaid, platinum and burgundy.
Pam is giving very special coffee for this challenge.. the challenge requires the pictures to have parts that can MOVE!! lol. This is a toughie.. I thought I would skip this but I found this stamp that I had gotten from Amy a few weeks back.. so its time to break and use it..
Ok.. I had this gorgeous paper from Memory Keeper which is perfect for this.. I stamped the robot a couple of times so that I can cut out the parts and proceeded to use brad to loosely join them back on.. so that they are movable. I had also used the pair of moving eyes on the robot. I place it over the spellbinder die cut. I had also stamp some of the wheel stamps and had them cut out to embellish the card. I finished it off with I love robot stamp. A perfect boy card! 🙂 only thing is I had stamped the robot in grey.. but its hard to see on the photo.. u may need to look closer..
It has been quite a fun project, initially thought to be tough, but ended easier than I thought and that with perserverance and patience, all things is possible. Another lesson for me today :)… Nighty nite.. its 1:30am…
2S4Y 51, Embellish Magazine Embossing Colour Challenge -Yellow, Blue, Green and Pink, Jacksonbelle (Get Krafty)
I am loving the sponsor for Embellish Magazine – Practising Creativity that I wanted to give this challenge a go. Choosing the colour hues, I chose fabulous sketch by Kazan over at 2S4Y #51.
I had decided to use Kraft base, polka dot green, blue layering. For the centre piece, I stamped and emboss the flower by Stampin’ Up, piece the stem (Hero Arts) and use a pink green damask patterned paper (wrapper :p). Tied the pink twine over it. I finished off the card with simple handsewn at the sides.
I like the look of this simple card… as a reminder to think sunshine in my life 🙂
Day 58 Crazy 8’s, Practical Scrappers, Jacksonbelle Embellishment (Get Krafty)
I was feeling a bit under weather, has tried making cards but it was not happening. So this morning.. I thought about the gorgeous stamps that I had gotten from Practicing Creativity (I heart the stamp sets) and buttons from Practical Scrappers. So I combined the Crazy 8 challenge with buttons and Kraft.
I had decided to use Kraft as base… and got to working on the clouds using Ranger’s Distress Broken China over a cloud ( You’re Dandy, Practicing Creativity) and begin to stamp various hot air balloons with different inks from Versamark ( I heart the stamps coz they ink so well 🙂 ) and had them cut out and pasted in on the card (8 hot air balloons). I place 8 different buttons on the balloons. I had also stamped the banners (8) and did the faux stitching ending with the sentiment. .. little bows from hemp strings.
Perfect card for myself at the moment! Hope you guys like it! 😀
Last nite was a gathering of my girlie friends.. after such a long time. It was a nice surprise to receive the sms.. So I thought I wanna celebrate the gift of friendship that I whipped out 4 cards in no time.. just very simple ones… just to celebrate the colours of life that we have been through..not my best work. totally uncensored lol… here goes.. just having a bit of fun :p
( stamps are from Stamping Up that I had gotten from Amy and ribbons are from a local bakery supplies store.. yeah!!!) and little flower is felt die cut from Sizzix..
365cards Day 57 – Ad Inspired (colours pastel blue, pink, white, stripes, turtles etc ), CPS Sketch 164
Since I have had some quite some orders for baby cards recently, I decided that this will a perfect challenge for another baby card following CPS Sketch 164. And it allows me to take out my unused stamps and play.
I had used October Afternoon patterned paper ( perfect since it has all the colours) and Hero Arts baby boy stamps. I had used the little sail boat, sentiment for this card. I had also used Marvy U for the scallops, MS border punch (multi scallop) and Friskars for the waves. I had used coordinating ribbons and pastel blue for the bow tie. I finished it off with hemp strings to create little ripple of waves (as in stripes in the ad inspired baby cribs).
Today has been a busy, busy day.. I am also at a point of in the midst of many crossroads in my life at the moment.. lots of small ripples.. :p… I have to be careful in my decision makings in the next one month. Balancing health, work, money and CRAFTING… I hope my time for crafting will not be compromised… fingers crossed 🙂
Have a great week ahead.. 😀 Thanks for stopping by.
