You’re a Star

You're a Star 😀
Stamptacular Sunday Challenges #65, Papercraft star Challenge #2

hi all… This is my third posting today lol. Please scroll down for the earlier two postings..

I had attempted a guy’s card.. three challenges for this,… the use of red, blue, white (Papercraft Star), Sew Many Challenges – anything goes and Stamptacular Sunday (star and stripes).

I had used a cream card stock. Ink the background with pti text background and Rangers tea dye. I tied a striped ribbon (from local bakery store :p) withe a yellow button over. The Stars are sizzlit dies and the stamp star and sentiment (Hero Arts with memories inkpad)

I did the final touch of Pure Glitz Tiara, just to add a little something.

Well, hope you like this card. And it has been a totally productive card making day for me :D…. stay tuned and come back for more.. and thanks for dropping by :D..

Let’s Catch Up

Let's Catch Up
Day 122 Shades of Blue, Sew Many Challenges – anything goes.

Hey all,

This is my second posting for the day :D…

Ok.. I stop work in between, and I came up with this card. Love the play of blue… I had used K&C Citronella pattern paper for the sea and cut it layers to form waves. I had used my Hero Arts .. Whale stamp set for the first time, kinda excited, to take out my unused stamps (thanks to 365cards *wink*) and stamped it with Memento black and colored in copics. I had fun fixing the eye to the whale (finally, that got used!!) and clouds stamps are also from Hero Arts. this card has also been for Sew Many Challenges :).

So it is a simple card, but I love it, coz it was a fun card to make. And I do love the use of blue in this card. Hope you have a great day ahead, and lets do catch up over the bloggy land :).

Day 121 Shades of Red, 3 colours of red or more, Sew Many Challenges – Anything goes

Happy Tuesday :D. I have been rather busy with some work and feeling tired of late, hence the lack of posting.

Today I will share with a card I had made using red, red, red 😀 as called by 365cards.. For the chinese community, RED is deemed auspicious, auspicious, auspicious :D. When we celebrate occasions, especially the Chinese New Year, we are totally encouraged to wear red, or a tinge of red.. thats an order by my mum lol… very easy to please her.. but not an easy colour to wear :p.

When I saw this challenge, I thought about my doodlebug ghingham and how I love it. So I used over a maroon red bazzill cardstock. I had tied a cream grossgrain ribbon over it. I had adhere a some of the pattern paper over the ribbon and I tied a red button to it. I hardly play stickers, so I am rather excited to use this flower from OA and finishing it off with a simple sentiment (pti vintage picnic – ink memories) on the ribbon, stapling it.

I thought it look rather bold, plenty of shades of red here and totally auspicious.. the sentiment meaning is a little ambiguous and I thought it perfect for well wishing and also as a get well soon card. Thanks for stopping by 😀 and have a lovely week ahead :).

Welcome Home…

Day 118 Ransom Note, Clear & Simple ftl 96, Sew Many Challenges – Anything goes

Hei all… Happy Weekend, how time flies, when you busy, busy, busy!:)

Today, I took a break from my project to make a card, before I start work on my presentation.. well you know as a motivation and reason to craft :p.

I was thrilled to see the challenge at 365 cards that requires us to sentiment from newspaper or magazine.. and I had decided to use the lovely sketch by Clean & Simple and participate at Sew Many Challenges.

I was going thru the Rotarian magazine.. and this bright, and intriging picture caught my eyes. It has gorgeous background colour and I had decided right away to use this.

I had it cut out, overlay it over a teared patterned paper from the stash and adhere it to a kraft base. I had cut out an immigration stamp from the same article and adventure and adhere it. I taken out my clearart stamp of Paris and stamp the immigration stamp on it, reflecting travels.

I had used a Sizzix alphabets dies that I had gotten from super talented crafter Amy(Amy, I love this one 😀 ) ” welcome” and “Home”, is another cut out from the magazine but from a different article.  What is more welcoming to a traveller, weary journey than a home full of love (shimmer paper of family/neighbour cut out) and hot coffee (on my couch, pti):D.

I totally enjoyed this project and it was so much fun browsing through the magazine, and realising what a treasure they are to crafting. 😀

Happy, Happy Crafting weekend :D.

welcome home 😀

Celebrate Today

Hei all, :D.. I do hope you have had a great week so far.. :). Mine has been topsy turvy.. haha.. Too many new things in my life.

For a long time, not so much excitement. But this week, I have gotten my new multi focal glasses.. boy .. did my world kinda spin.. nausea for the first two days trying to get used to it.. its improving but I am hanging in there…

And then I started my hormone therapy for my imbalance hormones. Hormonal problems can totally alter your world! lol. When I went back to hometown, I met a specialist doctor who had recently started to specialises hormone treatment for herself, and she was the one who saved me from adrenal failure about 4 years ago, when she told me to go for cortisol check. So, I am glad I found her again, I have decided to go on a hormone therapy under her supervision to normalise my world:p… so lets just wait and see. I think in a meantime, I just enjoy crafting and go easy on my work.

So today, I am back at 365cards and Practical Scrappers .. flowers (PS) and  a Tuesday triplets (365 cards).. buttons, blossoms, bows and brads. I had used gorgeous OA polka dot background, yellow bright :). And I am back with favourite twine tresses cum bows ties for the stems, MS punched out flowers with buttons, grass, and corrugated piece (1st time and loving the feel to it) that I piece it together with brads and finally a pti sentiment with my third flower brad.. to remind me to always “Celebrate my day and learn to love and live life in its gentleness and fullness”. Oh yea… I faux stitch with Uniball white. 🙂

Hey all.. remember to smile and celebrate today :). Thanks for stopping by. Thank you and Love all your wonderful comments. 🙂

When in Need of Comfort…

OCCSC 20, Hero Arts Colour Layering June 2010B

This card I made for a dear friend, who is going thru a difficult time. I was thinking abt making the card since last week, but just couldnt get down to it. However, two things inspired this creation… the beautiful colour combo card that I love from Be(e)Stamped , she makes awesome cards and the sketch from OCC.

I had wanted to make a card to show support and strength… So I chose nature, because nature has always been one of my source of comfort and stillness esp in time of difficulty. I had used this Unity stamp set that I got for the spiritual encouragement. The colour combo is just yummy, orange for spunkyness and hope and chocolatey… for comfort.

I hope this card brings a smile to her and know that I am with you, my dear. 🙂

Have a good day everyone.
