Hi y’all, I have a long day.. partly blogging, partly spending half my day at the vet, sending my Meera, German Shepherd of 12.5 years to the vet for an eye and ear checked. We are trying to determine if Meera needs a cataract surgery, or at her old age, this may not be a good idea. We are scheduling to take her for further tests to determine her health condition. If she doesnt get it done, she will suffer pain at her eyes and go blind on one eye. :(. Meera has been with us for the last 12 years and 2 months. We got her from a local breeder, though her mummy is from Germany :). She is just a lovely gorgeous dog and I love her so very much..she has been my constant companion on all these years. She is a Gentle giant :).. muah Meera..
Back to my card.. I just had to participate when I saw this sketch at Sketches in Thyme. I love it! So here is my take on the sketch.
I had used .. .Waltzingmouse stamp for this, with the coordinating Nestie dies. The strip of patterned paper is from Webster Pages. The flowers is from a die cut – Sizzlit, and I had overlap it with felt flower and some tiny yellow roses. I do so love the crinckled ribbon.. I think they are really kinda cool.
I slept in late today.. it has been such a good rest after awhile. Feeling relax, hubby and I went out to a vegetarian (full.. not even eggs 🙂 ) restaurant. I had ordered a lovely garlic naan with palak paneer(ground spinach with cottage cheese.. oh yummy) and hubby ordered a more traditional dish.. yogurt rice. We are on a full vegetarian diet for a month as required by the Hindu rites with the passing of my father in law. It has rather unnerving for me, being vegetarian for the first time. I think I have even put on weight coz the need to replace meat with more carbo :(. I do welcome the flavourful vegetarian dishes however, I still find it a challenge to be a pure vegetarian (which include using only culinary that are specifically used for vege dishes only) and fussing over every ingredient on the package… to be something not really my style. However, out of respect to the ritual and rites to my late father in law, 30 days it is! 🙂
Today I share with you a really simple card, based loosely on day 273 of 365cards. I am still half asleep hehehe. I love the webster pages for Christmas. I have done no stamping whatsoever.. just the basic cut and paste and a little inking, and stitching. Oh yeah love the MS snowflakes punch. But I so Love the Santa on the hot air! The sentiment is really light and hard to capture.. but I do so love this sentiment! and how true it is!
Hi y’all, I am a little behind on this card, but kept thinking about the fabulous sketch and work by the DT over at 365cards. They are having vintage blog hop challenge week.
A very quick post, coz I will be going over to the family home for prayers for my father in law who had recently passed on. Its 16 days continuous prayers, and the 16th day is this Sat and it will be rather elaborate event with Hindu rituals and prayers.
Back to the card, I love the finishing of this card (finally :p).. coz I had used a lot of my favourites.. the doily, distressing, holly colour in, vintage doily by Martha Stewart, and check out the new lace that I had gotten. I just love the lace.
Okie dearies.. thanks for dropping by. Till then. take care! hugs..
Just wanna say thanks for all your condolence wishes. I will share more in my next post. I am just feeling exhausted at the moment.
This is a quickie post for Sew Many Cards Challenges (SMC) using turkey image and punches. Yeap, thats this week challenge. So do hop over and see all the fun projects by other DT members. Join us for this challenge.
Hi peeps, I just wanna say thank you for all lovely support and wishes received. Things at home are still a little stressed and tired as we prepare to receive the remains of my late father in law. We have been doing a lot preparation, running around and waiting.
I felt the need to craft. I find crafting as a form of release in moments of stress, it just calms me down and allow me to express my inner feelings. I have seen wonderful sketches this week, and I was wanting to play but somehow not in the mood of creating anything cheerful. I saw this gorgeous sketch Cardabilities Sketch 15 and I remembered the beautiful and meaningful Skipping Stones set of Healing Wings and Dandelion Wishes that I had, and decided to take out these and get on with it.
I love the beautiful sayings of this sentiment stamp. So meaningful and close to heart.
Thanks for dropping by and all condolences received. A heartfelt thank you. Celebrate the gift of Life! hugs to all 🙂
My father in law, Krishna, passed away peacefully on Friday late night, after struggling for a few weeks in ICU in a Medical Center in India. He was 92. He has lived the last twenty over years in India.
The above card I made this morning, from me and hubby dedicated to him in his memory. My hubby wrote this :
This day is remembered and quietly kept,
No words are needed, we shall never forget,
For those loved, don’t go away, they walk beside us every day,
unseen, unheard but always near, so loved, so missed and very dear.
For my dad, father and friend… may his soul rest in peace. Amen.
Thanks for dropping by.
This card is inspired by 365days Day 258, Tone on Tone, Card Positioning Systems Card Sketch 193

This is my DT first project sharing Blue and White challenge week at Sew Many Cards (SMC) weekly challenge!. Do come along and play 🙂
Also sharing today.. my goddaughter, Desiree, nursing graduation… 🙂
Aint she looking gorgeous in her graduation outfit :). The ceremony was great, to see all these young budding nursing professionals. They are a blessing arent they!
I had a little incident at the function.. coz my drinking glass broke on me literally ( due to hot tea and the kind of glasses that the hotel had provided) that left a small but deep cut on my middle finger… it was a rather bloody scene, didnt know that a cut on the finger could do that .. ha!.. luckily me, surrounded by all these wonderful just graduated nurses, fussing over my poor finger. Talk about the middle finger getting some kind attention :p. Thank you nurses!!! Its much better today!
Thats all for today peeps…. I will be out of town tomorrow for a possible life changing moment. Feeling rather nervous but excited about it. Do keep me and hubby in prayers, that good things will happen tomorrow. :). I will share more later. Thanks peeps!
Hi peeps.. Just wanna say thank you for your all kind thoughts and wishes for my father in law. His condition has not changed yet. Thank you :). I am so very touched by the camaraderie shared by us bloggers 🙂
Today I am sharing a happy news. My goddaughter, Desiree is having a graduating ceremony as a qualified nurse. I remember holding her as a baby for baptism, 23 years ago in my arms ( I was very young then lol), I was shivering with sweat at holding a new born and taking up the role of a godma.. ( I am still very young hehehe). I am so very proud of her, the person that she has grown to be – strong, compassionate and kind. We will be having a post graduation celebration in the night, so all of us will be cooking up a dish or two :).
I made this card for her. I am not sure if it is overdone, a little too busy I think I have overthought it.. I started with something else, but kept on improvising it hehehe. Anyways.. its handmade from my heart, and I hope that she likes it. I got her a bouquet of african daisies… they are just lovely. 🙂
Thanks always for dropping by and leaving such sweet comments. It warms my heart, sincerely thank you :).
:D. This is my second posting- so do scroll down for an earlier post :), and I am only back home hours ago.. had a really good nap and was just browsing the for challenges, and I saw this challenge over at Simplicity – One Layer Wednesday27 challenge.
It took me really quick to make this card, only about 20 mins and I heart this new Waltzingmouse poinsetta set with label stamp. This card is to participate in Simplicity Christmas Kindness – challenge is to make one-layer holiday cards (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa) that meet the requirements for the North Dakota State Penitentiary…
“It is a 600+ men’s prison for 18 year olds on up, with many in their 30s and 40s. The majority of them have wives, children, parents. A few of them only get a visit once a year from family so cards are a nice way to keep in touch. Even those who get more visits enjoy sharing a holiday card with their family. With 600+ guys, any Christmas cards we can send would be very much appreciated!”
I had enjoyed making this card, will make a few more of the similar and send them off to Rhonda!
” I have just gotten word that my father in law is critically ill in India. He is in Intensive Care Unit for the last two weeks, but have just gotten word that his lung has just collapse ” Asks for your kind prayers and thoughts for his speedy recovery. Thanks peeps.
