Hi peeps..

So today, I share this card I made.. . I have crocheted this doily and make this red hana-ami bloom. and piece them together with a brad. The background is stamped with PTI. I have used this lovely fabric tape that I had gotten from Practicing Creativity Design. Finished it off with another border die cut and sentiment from pti. I am entering this for anything goes challenge by Paperminutes and Let’s  ink it up 🙂 and flowers at Pixie Cottage.

My crafty blogging journey (began 16th Feb 2010):

I cant believe that time has passed us by so quickly. Its almost a year now since I have started blogging and this has been an amazing journey. I must admit that when I first started it was to learn and improve card making. I didnt want to attend class, and I have that “can do attitude” .. nothing is too hard right.. so I just jumped into card challenges, and they require for you to have a blog.. and thats how I got started.. Though my first post wasnt card making, it was during the Chinese New Year, when I was away in my hometown.

Now, Blogging is a network of talented crafters and friends, who shares their creations, lives and thoughts. It has been amazing, all the new friends I have made through crafting and blogging :). Peeps.. I still cant believe all your wonderful creations.. Its like unwrapping presents daily when I visit you 🙂

Thanks for always leaving me such beautiful comments and as an appreciation, I am offering this little candy.. (highlights are my crocheted doilies, hana-ami blooms and yo yo blooms – I will make some more hana-ami blooms.. I only have three at the time I took this picture )

So do leave me a comment, and it will be great that you could follow me on Google Reader (coz I am using WordPress, and I cant really see my blogspot followers ) and I will draw the candy on the 16th of February(this is my actual Bloggerversary day 🙂 )…. good luck :)!

Green with Envy

Semmy the Snail 🙂

ohhhhhhh.. No I am not, but the Sew Many Cards Challenge is :). This is this week challenge!

I have used this gorgeous cutie.. Semmy the Snail.. I would say a happy green, dont ya think! I printed Semmy and coloured and piece it. I misted the background and lace it with a misted doily, to give it a little more dimension and surrounded Semmy with Sizzix Grass die cut. I have used the MS border punch and pp to finish off. The sentiment die is from Provo Craft.

Go nature today.. have green projects and play with us at SMC Challenge this week.

Celebrating Chinese New Year

Blossoms stamped cut outs and butterflies with the sentiment "fook" which means luck and prosperity 🙂

Hi peeps… its only a week away… before we celebrate our Chinese New Year on the 3rd of February. Yeap, its the most important day in the chinese calendar. In fact, we celebrate 15 days.. however due to practicality of modern day life, most family tends to celebrate at least the first three days of the new lunar year.

Of course the new year celebration, does come with a fair bit of superstitions that are practised thru the many many years :). Spring cleaning is one, new clothes (red, yellow are welcome, taboo for dark colours like black – you wont even get to pass the door, mum will Order you straight up to the room to change, oh no.. no sad and gloomy colours when you welcome the new year with a happy heart, happy thoughts for another good year of prosperity, good health and happiness. 🙂

Hence, the traditional Chinese New Year (CNY) cards are generally bright red with golden letterings, of flowers, fruits, fireworks,  and children. They also take on the year of the zodiac animals… there are twelve.. this coming year is the year of  Rabbit. 🙂 Check out what  Zodiac animal you are here and this year readings  here (for fun 😉 ).

hmm.. just remembered I have not made any rabbit cny card yet.. :D. Ok.. hope you like this card. Have a good day everyone 🙂

Monkey Business

Hi peeps..

I love the topic.. dont ya.. 🙂 Well.. its Friday again, and its MONKEY BUSINESS at Sew Many Cards Challenges this week.  I had most fun playing with this digi, Miki the Monkey, such a cutie.  Had so much fun.

I had distressed the background using old paper/scattered straw (Rangers distressed inks) and stamp the background with the leaves (ink – Conch Shell, Rangers as well). I had then stamped the branches (tea leaves by Versamagic) and the rope using chestnut roan (Chalk). I had pieced and cut out Miki and adhered with foam tape. Last but not least the sentiment for it. Used tracing wheel to add a bit stitch marks and brads. Kinda cute, dont ya think.

So hope on by.. and do monkey around with us, won’t ya! Have a great weekend…..

PS…The WINNER for the cute Digi images from my last week post of SMC Jan Birthday Blog Hop is ….

yaay.. congrats to …..  Shirl …… I will send both the digi image to you….  🙂

hi peeps,

Have been feeling a little under the weather.. and I made some flowers to lift my spirit!!! Craft therapy is great, aint it. :).

I found this hana-ami loom when I went to get a ball of white wool that had finished from my doily project and I made this lovely find.. Its so easy to make and I love the look of it. All you need to do it loops and some basic sewing. very fun, gotta to try it!

I made this card for 2S4Y, I was sad to hear the news that this will be their last.. coz they always have fabulous sketches and wonderful submissions.  I had to play this one, a lovely sketch by Kazan :).

Thanks for dropping by :D.. Have a great week ahead.
