Celebrating Chinese New Year

Blossoms stamped cut outs and butterflies with the sentiment "fook" which means luck and prosperity ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi peeps… its only a week away… before we celebrate our Chinese New Year on the 3rd of February. Yeap, its the most important day in the chinese calendar. In fact, we celebrate 15 days.. however due to practicality of modern day life, most family tends to celebrate at least the first three days of the new lunar year.

Of course the new year celebration, does come with a fair bit of superstitions that are practised thru the many many years :). Spring cleaning is one, new clothes (red, yellow are welcome, taboo for dark colours like black – you wont even get to pass the door, mum will Order you straight up to the room to change, oh no.. no sad and gloomy colours when you welcome the new year with a happy heart, happy thoughts for another good year of prosperity, good health and happiness. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hence, the traditional Chinese New Year (CNY) cards are generally bright red with golden letterings, of flowers, fruits, fireworks, ย and children. They also take on the year of the zodiac animals… there are twelve.. this coming year is the year of ย Rabbit. ๐Ÿ™‚ Check out what ย Zodiac animal you are here and this year readings ย here (for fun ๐Ÿ˜‰ ).

hmm.. just remembered I have not made any rabbit cny card yet.. :D. Ok.. hope you like this card. Have a good day everyone ๐Ÿ™‚
