The Gift of Self and Others

Prayer of Serenity

Hi peeps,

I was feeling a little under the weather the other day! And I had briefly posted this…

My friends call me passionate, one lovingly says that I am transparent… but sometimes, it only opens to allowing people to hurt me, dont ya think…. to be so open and giving… and miscontrued sometimes.. I guess, I am still learning the art of loving oneself, and friendship.. where is the line that we draw.. I never learn from mistakes… sigh! But I do have a few friends who really appreciates the person that I am, for that I am grateful. Grateful for this gift of companionship in our journey in life.

For my bloggy friends who dropped me a note after they read this (ps.. I withdrew coz I wanted to make a card that went with it.. ) thanks so much for kind words and I am so very touched. πŸ™‚

So I made this really simple card …. kraft base embossed.. and a handwritten calligraphy..( I am so rusty, I need to practise and polish it more!) on Prayer of Serenity. I heart this prayer coz it always challenge me and help me putΒ into perspective the things I cannot change, and the ones that I can.. and the wisdom and the courage to do so πŸ™‚

I am feeling a zillion times better :).. thanks for your love and dropping by!

Digi Doodle Vintage Sewing Machine

Hi peeps,

Its the SUPER SKETCHY SUNDAY at 365cards today.. I am always excited when it comes to Sunday.. dont ya.. And we have a fabulous sketch and sponsor this week. Β Our sponsor Digi Doodle Shop has fabulous digi stamp check out their stamps here.

For this sketch, I had used the vintage sewing machine (something that I grown up with it, in my current home, I have an electric one, but we still have one in my mum’s place). I had used fabric for the background, gotten it stitched, and stitched borders along the middle using different coloured threads and designs. For the image, I had printed it, coloured, and pieced the quilt and cut it with spellbinder :). Last but not least, the ball of thread is from Lawn Fawn, and sentiment from pti and topped them off with twine and buttons :).

Thats all folks.. Make sure you hop by and see all the fabulous creations by the DTs and play along. Would love to see your fab creations :D.

I am off to Mass now.. laters πŸ™‚

This week SSS Sketch πŸ™‚

hi peeps,

I am so super excited to share that I have received a Really Happy Mail from Pam of 365 cards that I have been accepted into the fabulous Design Team. Wowwee.. truly a dream come true for me. Thanks Pam πŸ˜€

365cards has been my *first love* when it comes to card challenge blog. I started my craft blogging challenge with 365cards over a year ago. It is a fantastic challenge site that is evergreen with a following of more than 1500. It has contributed to much of my learning curve as a card maker, with its daily sketches and fun themes to play, try, experiment and explore.I continue to play whenever I can, even after a year πŸ˜€ (brimming with pride here πŸ™‚ ). Do follow, if you havent :)!

So I am just so thrilled to be part of this fabulous team, whose work I so admire. I will feature my creations with the team on Super Sketchy Sunday sketches… the sketchy day that you wouldn’t want to miss.

About the Card πŸ™‚

I have used this fabulous Digi “Cocoa” by Sassy Studio Designs, who is our sponsor for the week. Dont you think this image is just fab! They just have the *funnest* and fab sassy digis. I have printed it, coloured in copics and pieced the sofa (distressed polka dot stamped-pti). The bright yellow base is from Bazzill. I have used layers of punched borders by Friskars border punch, and finished it off with a small notepad punched, stamped it (pti) and layered them with buttons and twine. I did do a light script stamp on the background (C&S) and it off with distressed around the card. Bright earthy tone card!

I do hope you love my debut card for 365cards. Do come and play along and check out our sponsor Sassy Studio Designs… .Hugs………….. πŸ™‚ Happy weekend!

Happy Birthday Paul.. U r the BEST Bro! :)

You are the Best! {heart}

Hi peeps,

Just sharing a birthday card I made a week ago for my brother Paul Ling. He is such an awesome guy, loving, caring and selfless. He is a teacher and my parents live with him in my hometown. He is angel sent to my parents and grandparents, coz he has been a source of support to their needs.

Yesterday was his birthday. I dedicate this card to my brother… and just to let him know that I love him and will always be there for him… Hope he likes this card … hugs.

Cardstock is from bazzill, stamp is from Practicing Creativity design, embossed folder from Sizzix. finish it off with local yarn and twine. πŸ™‚
