Day 28 A Certain Sentiment

For today’s challenge, I was feeling a little down with certain situation in my current phase of life.. I thought about what I wanted to make… but finally just decided to not to think too much.. that I should have fun and instead of getting all too serious. Like Debbie, what the heck.. I will send this to myself..   as a reminder sometimes in life.. I take things too seriously… and all the stress might very well originate from me :p. It time to let my hair down and play.. and for this challenge.. that was what I did!

I had used Penny Black stamps.. I love the stamps I have used because.. they are fun, they do poke fun about life in a way.. whatever you are going through, things will be alright, dont take myself too seriously, dont be silly, the sun is out there.. the grass is green and flowers are everywhere.. Do not focus on too much balancing.. just go with the flow, if I fall, fall on the grass where the flowers grow!! :p 😀

Yeap, it turn out to be a simple but fun project. Hope you enjoy this too, so whatever it is, hang in there, it will soon pass.. have a sunny week ahead!

Celebrate the gift of friendship

Day 28 Super Sketchy Sunday

I was quite excited at acquiring this new gorgeous flower stamp from Hero Arts today that I decided to use for today’s challenge.

A fair bit of stamping and cutting and piecing with the buttons to create the raised flower. Just a simple folded ribbon, a sentiment and some pearls to complete the look. Not forgetting… so inspired all the lovely sewing and the sponsor for the week Sew Many Cards, I had sewn the card.. rhymes with our sponsor and the week’s theme ..hint…. hint… :).

This card is for a dear friend for her upcoming birthday. Something special for a dear friend…

Celebrate!

1 of a Kind

Day 27 I’m touched

This must be my quickest project and I did all 7…. yeah! For this challenge.. I had a hard time thinking out of the box after I saw the beautiful flower by Heidi.. gorgeous work. I just had to work with what I have… and I have..

tonnes of wools that I bought two weeks ago. I began sifting thru them, looking all the various colours and textures… that i finally selected 8 different yarns… and tie them together.. chose my background, black punched paper by Martha Stewart..and colour stripes to complement.ooo … did u see the gorgeous fence border punch by Martha Stewart… I thought it would go well with what I was thinking..

I tied the ribbon, it has the messy cute look, loop over my velvet shocking pink flower (cuttlebug die) and but a diamond pin across.. all touched 🙂 and of course, one of a kind special You!..

One of A Kind

a closer look where all the elements touched.. 🙂

Chalking Day

Day 23 Stencil It

This has been a fun challenge.. coz.. I have been using chalk the whole morning on my sweet stencil that I got from a local store sometime back. Perfect challenge to take out another unused tool of mine!

Chalk used comes in palette not the ones for the board. This is my first try at gentle chalking, and I love the use of chalk. Wow.. the colours and building it layers by layers.. I feel like a kid again :p.

I just added some brads, ribbon, punched flowers by Martha Stewart over a brown polka dot border. I have decided not to use any sentiment because I don’t wanna cover my work which I spent the morning doing:p.. so this will an all occasion card!

You Did IT! :)

Day 26 Card Recipe – 5X5inch, 3 circles, 2 squares, ribbon and a chosen sentiment

Today’s posting reminds me that when things get you down, when what you plan did not materialise, you still did it, because you got guts to try!!. What it does is that it enriches your life like no other, though painful, I can still be proud of myself that I have given it a go. Today is a setback for me… but I have tried, but it is not what it is.. maybe the timing is not right. I will wheather it thru :). Better things to come! And yes I did it, another cap to my rich life experiences!.

You Did It!

For this challenge, i have taken out my embossing die by Cuttlebug.. and emboss the first square and proceeded to distress it with Rangers Scattered Straw, Tea Dye and Brushed Corduroy. The 2nd square I had used a flourish stamp from Hero Arts, using Scattered Straw, Shabby Shutters and Brushed Corduroy and misting it before stamping. The first is the big background distressed circle, scallop circle and 3rd circles with the crown brad.. I heart this brad. I tied the ribbon with a single bow 🙂 and chose You Did It sentiment. Yes… I have attempted two distress techniques today! :p. I have decided to rework on the starpower, using my Hero Arts (yay 1st timey) star stamp and layered the distress star over for the extra zing!.

Have a Happy Birthday

Day 25 Do it Yourself

This is a basic card challenge.. back to the days, when I just started crafting, havent yet gone wild on craft materials, just the basic for card making…lol

For this challenge we had to only use glitter brad, pearl or DIY. I had chosen to use pattern paper, and cut out flowers from patterned papers. I used a string, and twirled it to make the stem and tie a little ribbon to make it look like leaves. I used multiple scalloped punched by EK for the ground feature.. something that I learned from Cindy. Finished the card with a little pearlised butterfly and Happy Birthday sentiment.

I love this card bcos.. I DIY!- thanks Pam and Vicky.. back to basics, and I do love doing simple cards like these.. 🙂

Happy Birthday

Plentiful Thanks

Day 24 Terrific Ten

Today’s posting reminds me of the many things in life to be thankful about, even though there have been many challenging moments. For my parents, who have loved me the best way that know and can, shaping me the way I am; thankful for my hubby for your love and is constantly by my side and supporting me, and thankful for my friend, you know who you are- for teaching me about love, friendship and life. For my complicated health, and because  of that, allowing me the time to rediscover myself and discovering the expression of self through craft..and most of all, plentiful of thanks to God for His providence in my daily life.

This has been an interesting challenge. Initially thought it may be tough without it looking too busy.. I found my K Company Cardstock that I had purchased a while back. The cardstock are gorgeus and I have used yep!  all ten different patterned papers. The ninth is layered by the ribbon and the 10th is scrunged flowers that I had learnt from 365cards.

I decided to complete the card by choosing a bright base to accentuate the overall colours. Plentiful thanks for dropping by :).

Plentiful Thanks

Life Is Wonderful

Life is Wonderful

Day 22 Movie Monday – Alice in the Wonderland…

Life is Wonderful, isnt it, if we live it well. And I think, the fact is that I have the time to enjoy crafting is that I am living my life well at this moment. To have the time for my love of crafting has really been fulfilling… 🙂 and whats more to take up blogging, and meet crafters throughout the world from card blogging has been an amazing ride 🙂

This week take on Movie, has transported to the land where life is really wonderful, and a hint of Alice in the Wonderland.. full of roses, roses and the play cards.. hidden between the roses. The roses stamps were just given to me by my friend who is also an avid crafter from Australia.. Thank you Natalie… 🙂 the roses are beautiful..

I love it the outlook of the finished card… a reminder that Life is Wonderful, when you have friends who shares your love for crafting :).
